So on what authority do I have to be giving fitness advice? Good question. Let’s answer it. I'm not a professional when it comes to bodybuilding, fitness, medicine or nutrition. What I am is like 99% of the people you see everyday. What does separate me is that I can bench twice my weight, throw on a pair of running shoes and run a marathon. Oh, and I just turned 51. I do know what works and how to be fit. I live it everyday. In 1980 I was 5’9’’ tall and weighed 149 lbs. By the time I was 35 I weighed in at 161. Most of the 12 lb gain was around the waist, yet I had knocked around gyms trying to “get big” all this time. Today my weight is 190 with a 32" waist, 18" arms and a 49" chest. I can and do run marathons, though I hate cardio and am slowly giving it up. I haven’t been sick in 10 years. Nothing magical. Get your mind right. Low rep, high weight serious lifting. Whey protein, creatine. Eat right. Have a routine bedtime and get your rest. Clean healthy living. I am stronger, bigger and leaner at 51 than I was at 21, 31 and 41. Hopefully the things you read here can do the same for you.
